Shell Air box decal; A friend of mine has a early '69E with a partial Shell decal on the snorkel of his air box. If anyone can point me to a better photo of one or a place to purchase the decal that would be most helpful.
Thanks,

Thanks,
I looked on that "sklborgfly"(sp) site that has repros of just about anything you would need but I did not see this.
Any Orig. '69 engine photos?![]()
Hey Raj, is there any chance you could send me a higher definition (resolution) copy of the 1969 factory information, in color, which you posted above? I am finishing a very high level restoration of my 1969 S and I need this to get the details absolutely correct and to be able to argue with the "experts" at concours events. My email is: tomlynns@aol.com.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help Raj!
I think this was simmilar to the factory fill sticker that was used later. It is for Shell Rotella. I though the diesel oil was "Rotella T"; The Shell website is little help.
If it helps this is a fairly correct engine/car (about 10/68 built) with about 75k on it. The owner has documentation showing the whole ordering process that is quite interesting. It was purchased through "Max Mortiz" Porsche so maybe this was a pre-delivery sticker that they put on?
Thoughts...
Hi Andrew, my 1969 S was manufactured, 11/08/68, VIN 119300093. It might be interesting to compare a few authenticity details with your friends car, 10/68 production date. Would you be willing to give me the contact information for your friend?
Thanks,
Tom Scott

Tom,
No problem, he [Mike] reads these fourms. If it is all the same it is a '69E [Orig.] Soft window. I will prod him to contact you. If he forgets PM me and I will follow through.![]()
The 69S tested by Autocar or Motor magazine here in the UK when new had the decal on the snorkel. I seem to recall, as I don't have the test to hand, that it is of the yellow type. The picture is black-and-white, of course! If I can find my copy, I may be able to scan and post the relevant picture.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes
Chris
Thanks one and all for the great information.

What's this Tom, you're going to argue with a concours judgeI'd like to be there for that. I'll have to mention to Paul that I want to judge your class
(now that would be an education!!!)
