    Parts book abbreviations

    As I sort through the fasteners in my '66 there are a few abbreviations I have figured out and one I can't.

    verz. = verzinkt = galvanized (zinc or cad plated)
    phr. = phosphatieren= parkerized (black oxide probably)
    bost. = ??????

    What is "bost?" It is used for example to describe the M10x28 bolts that hold the rear caliper to the banana arm- in a 10K (modern 10.9) property-class.

    I assume it's black oxide? But black oxide is "phr."

    Can anyone help?

    The "b" is not a sharp/double "s", is it?

    Strasse => Strabe

    It may be short for, Phosphating / Bostik and Endurion treatment for that part.

    The last place in the eleven figure standard parts number for DIN parts, is the code for the corrosion protection which is given to that part. The following numbers are used,

    0=without corrosion protection
    1=phosphating / Bostik and Endurion treatment
    2=galvanic protective coating
    3=varnishing
    4=inkrom
