According to the Sports Purposes manual, the 5 1/2" rim was standard for '68 models. The 911 was homologated with a 1367mm track in the front and 1339mm in the rear. The hubs in the front are 7mm wider than on pre '68 cars so they fit a 7mm spacer in the rear.
For cars that are younger than '68 models and run with 5 1/2 rims, 7mm spacers should be fitted front and rear as well as longer wheel bolts.
Cheers,
n.
Great Info Nicolas !
Does someone run these in front of a 69-73 with deep 6 ?
(I run 7R in back with spacers and already have longer studs all around...)
Thanks

I think Nicolas explains it best. My car is such a frankenstein I am the wrong person to ask (68 with LWB flares on all 4 corners, deep 6s front with 12mm HR spacers, 7Rs rear with 1.5" spacers, 195/65s and 215/60s, longer studs all 4 corners.
Let me me know where you guys stand in re: to purchasing. Tim has expressed a firm interest in purchasing but Mike was first to inquire.
EDIT: I will ship across the pond.

Them's the real thing allright! Porsche part #901.352.413.00; called intermediate rings in the parts book. They were on my very early build '68, green gauges and all. It might actually be a late '67 according to some, but it has '68 adjustable strut towers. Apparently a factory transition car.
Very nice pieces to have Bob. Just the thing for fine tuning wheel/tire spacing.
I've found them exspecially useful to check tire clearances if I was considering going up a size, before actually buying tires and mounting them and then finding out.Double exspecially useful on a slightly lowered car.
I'd snap them up, but I already have a couple of sets.

My apologies, I have a set of these so Tim is in the clear to buy. I was only asking about the application on a narrow bodied car. Sorry if this has held up the sale.
