    Except for Bruce Anderson's column...

    1960 Roadster (Excellent Condition)

    2007- $74,675
    2008- $90,150
    2009- $96,500

I know these are skewed because even the 356 guys know prices are way OFF from last year or even the year before.

"very easy and inexpensive to maintain and care for" (not so sure about that part)

    Best,

    Tom

I think its very difficult to place a value on cars that are 50-65 years old. The condition, of two seemingly identical cars can be vastly different. With 356s even more so than our 911s, you really have to look at a lot of cars to develop a sense of the real value. Many of these cars have been "restored" several times.

Using any price guide should used only as a rough starting point. Bruce Andersons guide is much better than "Collector car price guide", but I think Keith Martins Sports car market is the most accurate of them all.

Another RED 356!! How many more are we going to see in Red/Blk combo? No wonder the lower price.

You are still getting what you pay for on these Roadsters/ 'D's. A really nice, well sorted, numbers correct, and rare color (Royal Blue -Fjord Green -Oslo Blue) will STILL achieve well over $120K.

Keith's SCM is a very good source but has been wrong on many 'general' descriptions when it comes to the little snipets on the cars at auction. I have been to many of the auctions and saw the same cars. I still can't get how they are always wrong when the car has vinyl interiors and they publish leather.
