    1969 S restoration update

Just checked up on the car. The case is back together, all honed with new main bearings. Magnesium case was cleaned and treated for pickling when it heats up. Heads have new valve guides, and waiting on the valves. Sticking with the 2.0 liter, not going to the 2.2 after all. I'm going to keep it original after all the unput from you guys and the MFI issue falling apart. Thanks to all. Still waiting on the bore of the original cylinders bt 20/ 100ths, and installing the larger JE pistons to compensate, NO KNURLING
Installed the 3.0 liter oil pump, and did some oil jacket updates that were figured out in later years. 930 tensioners were installed previously and look great. As up to date as can be for round 2

Transmission is back in the housing. New dog gear and synchro mesh installed. Differential reworked, and the pinion gear is ready to go. No limited slip differential.

MFI.... uh yeah. To be determined, ha ha.

I was trying to find that one thread for catalouging the serial numbers. I just got the one off the engine.
SN: 119301438 Engine: 901/10 26014 (pic is kind of blurry, I thought it focused better than that. Let me know if you see something different.)
Also, what is the benefit of getting the Porsche Authentication Certificate if you don't have one? It was reccommended that I apply for one.
    Thanks,
    Scott

I'll add that set of engine #'s to my build # thread. That is the second highest build # so far. I'd be guessing that the COA would show an engine # much lower than you have since 119310439 got engine 6391626.

Cool Dave, glad you got it. So you are more interested in the 639# as opposed to the 901/10#? Sorry, I thought it was the other way around.

The 26014 build # is what I am most interested in. There are five #'s of interest on the 901 engines: serial #, type #, build #, case pairing #, casting date. If you could get the last two, that would be great.
