I have Euro (non Dot) H-4 lamps with 55/100 bulbs. I notice a similar Cibie unit. Does anyone have a view on which is better, or if there is any noticeable difference? Thanks

When I was looking into Hella vs Cibie, Daniel Stern (www.danielsternlighting.com) had a strong perference for Cibies (full disclosure-he is a Cibie dealer).
When I asked him why, he said they worked better but I ended up getting the Hellas because I found an excellent set of used ones at a price I could not turn down.

Thanks Harry. I got this web site reference from another lister...

and if accurate it suggests the cibie's win hands down. Unfortunately the data referred to in the article is no longer accessible so you can't verify the assertions for yourself. Also, while it is said the data shows the Cibie to be superior, I'm not smart enough to know whether it is enough superior to be noticeable in the rear world.

For anyone considering a headlamp change, I found another thread which touches on this issue. It doesn't quite address the Hella vs Cibie question but supports the idea that the Cibie EUR headlamp is a very high quality product.
