This may be pushing the limits of arcane early 911 knowledge.
What would be the “correct” rear seat belts for the ’72-73 911 MY?
Moreover, does anyone have pictures?
Thanks in advance and have a great weekend.
Cheers,

I dont know about the belts. But I know the mounting holes are there and they are threaded.
I just did some rust repair on my 73 and all the proper mounts were present
have you tried peparts.com ? they have belts for just about everything

I know the following about rear seat belts:
- Where they are placed, what size and type bolts, proper fittings and hardware
- Where to buy non-period correct replacements (I have them in place)
- that they were optional (almost everything was)
What I do not know:
- What is the “correct” (think concours or factory) rear seat belts for a MY 1972-73 911.
This is a picture of “correct” factory rear seat belts for 1969-71.

Did Porsche carry these over to the ’72 or did they change the set-up with the new MY?
Knowing the factory’s penchant for using every single left over part to save a pfennig, one could assume that those shown above "could" be correct for a ’72 MY as the factory used up the old stocks.
Unfortunately, it is best not to use logic and reason when the parts bins may have been full, and front seat belts were optional only a few years prior.
Can someone verify?
Thanks again.

Hi Sumner
I am not sure what is exactly original or not in the USA but I believe that here in Australia by 1973 you had to have rear seat belts fitted. However it is possible that they were dealer fitted into factory mounts using local parts. The fitting of local parts was common in Australia (radio etc) as by deleting them in the factory order the then putative import taxes could be modified and the dealer got some extra markup on the sale.
I have rear belts in my 73E (September 73 delivery here and late June 73 build - so about as late as you can get for a long hood.) However while I believe they originally came with the car I have no real way to confirm this. Given the way that they are mounted and the remnants of the badge on the buckles I would suspect they may be installed post the factory but perhaps by the dealer to comply with local rules.
Here are some pictures for what it is worth
i have just had another look - the buckles have an australian patent number on the (with a 1968 date) so I think that would confirm that they were installed here

The repa belts in your picture are correct factory for 73 where fitted.
If your after some I may (have to look) have a set taken from my RS which I no longer require.
Hugh, rears and fronts were fitted here by Hamiltons as Repa belts didn't pass Aussie design rules...go figure.

Hey Fellow Enthiusiast!
These are the seat belts in my 63K miles all original 72S. They are Repa, the manufacturers label has Porsche on them, and they also are dated 1972.
I guess that's what you wanted, right? You ask, and I'll comply!...
Cheers!
Eric
