I acquired this a couple of years ago through local channelsand have had it hidden away. I believe that due to the type seat bracket affixed it would be out of a 911 based car, no? And if so, what type could it have been?
Thanks, John

59 Hurley? Hurley Haywood? Naaah, it couldn't be ... could it?
Mark,
This seat, along with some other parts, was given to a buddy of mine by Buddy Kennedy who has been the Parts Manager at Brumos for over 40 years.
That's just too cool. Wonder if there are any period photos of 59's interior showing the Scheel?
Uhh, could it be the yellow RSR that Kevin Jeannette restored?
He made a new seat, a little different than the one you show. But definitely a Hurley Haywood car #59.

Please try to ignore the writing on the bottom of the seat, if possible. I was wanting to have some idea what race 911's this specific seat model would be found in. When I first got it I thought it was for a 914-6 GT, but the adjustment lever is wrong for that application, looking more like a 911 fitment. Were these known to be installed in ST's, RSR's, ect.? Do any detailed old photos exist?
This may be backasswards, but I would like to find out what I can and then drive up to Jacksonville and see if Mr. Kennedy or Mr.Haywood would have any additional answers or insight.
I have seen them, or something very similar, in STs, TRs, and Rs.

I got a phone call from Hurley Haywood this morning and he asked to see photos of the seat. I sent him a link to this post and here is his email response...
"Hello John
That looks like a seat from an early 911, maybe my 1972. The RS and RSR seats were more race like. my guess is my 1972 911 championship winning car.
HHH"
I don't think I'll ever get to write "I got a phone call from Hurley Haywood this morning" again in my lifetime.
I'll say it again -- That's just too cool!
