    please help me decide

Happy New Year all,I have my S at the body shop to take care of a couple of issues ie mirrors in the wrong spots, and a bit of a crease in the hood when I FOOL parked a little too close with my truck as in just over top and the skid plate rubbed it a bit and a scratch in the quarter.
my question seeing that I have to touch up pretty much every panel would I be better off repainting the whole car back to its original colour which is 335 9 3 gemini blue I think or should I leave it silver?Would I recoup the extra $3000 in resale if it is back to original colour?Just thinking ahead as I will sell either the S or the convert in the spring because it just doesn't make sense to keep 2 p cars anymore although given the choice I would rather sell the 87 convert which has had everything done to it so pretty much perfect but high milage making it a tough sell.
anyway just wondered what you would do if it was your car
    Thanks Marty

That's a great original color. I'd take it back to the original color. You will find more stuff to fix though if you change it back. You don't want do it half way. You've got to be all in when you do a complete repaint. I would say because it's an S that the correct color is worth a lot more than $ 3,000.00 in resale. Take it down to the metal, windows out the whole deal.

i agree with longballa , back to original especially if you have a the number match engine , it will cost a bit more to repaint as its a lot more work , but it will be worth accordingly more

    Color

Gemini Blue is a great color. If you have the resources take it back to original.

I love the original gemini blue but with the car being somewhat modified ie rs flares and rs rear bumper does it really matter to a numbers matching car?

Is it a numbers matching car? RS flares can be removed. Bumpers are easy to find. Even if you keep the flares on I'd still go back to the original color. What year is the S?

Unless a color change is done in the course of a bare shell, on a dolly type restoration, it's a big knock in value. Longballa is right though, you are in for way more work than just paint.

thanks for the input so far folks.the car is a 73 and in great shape so I don't mind spending the money,it's just that I want to be smart about it and not do the wrong thing in that the silver had been done the right way to begin with and the only blue you can find is behind the door skins.
would you take the flares off as well?the front has the s spoiler so it isn't a true rs look.just the flares on the rear which I like anyway.I have pics on here just don't know how to link if anyone wants to see what we are talking about
    Thanks again
