Sad indeed... sorry to see those photos, John. Who did the PPI for you? Would be good for others to know.

Ooof. Really a kick in the gut when you are expecting more from a fellow enthusiast. Not that it will help with your situation John, but I'm sure this rust bucket will come back to haunt the seller's reputation in the long run. One positive aspect of the internet is that he won't be able to outrun this shoddy deal. I hope you post this on any site that he might be active on.

well the web is a powerful tool , i would be happy if the guy would if just front up and pay some of the money back . i'm not asking for a full refund because i can't just ship the car back.
So i have to treat this as a resto car and as such it's only worth that.

    Moral of this story

......I suppose a guy in his 80's, can't bend over too far to look underneath a 40 year old, non-galvanized car.

Especially when the buyer only wants to spend $10K...

    I don't get this...????

.....what about a PPI...did you offer to pay for this 15 K miles away ???

have no idea , but he removed the engine and gear box for repair? so if you jacked up a car to remove the engine and box would you have missed what i found ? also how about the fiberglass repair patches and fresh under seal to hide the rust in the rear torsion bar chassis frame? did i mention that ............
