    Fraud alert!

    This is an eBay scam. I know this car very well. It is not for sale by this person so if you are bidding on this retract your bid.

    A DIGIMARC watermark might make it possible to track a user. Bandwidth goes up BUT it does allow for tracking.

    He needs a "wood shampoo". (Police term aka a nightstick to the head)

    This car has been sold by us to a client in Europe and is already on the ocean.
    I contacted Ebay and they actually wrote me back about 3 hours ago that they would delete it. Right now it is still on and has bids over 9k.
    I agree with sithot and the wood shampoo treatment for those scammers

    To make matters worse, the car was featured in an email from Sports Car Market that went out this morning (the Collector Car Price Tracker)!

    May well be a scam but an unusual one in that there is no email in the body to contact, no buy it now price, etc. Strange?

    Brian, have you reported the auction to eBay yet? Since you know the car it would help; have the current owner notify them to remove this ad.

    I sent a question to the seller via eBay. It will be interesting if I get a reply. Also, noted that a $200,000 bid was retracted.

    The scammer was pretty detailed. Here's an e-mail I got:

I want this transaction to be smooth as I am caught in the middle of some very important events and I don't have much time at my disposal. The car is in perfect condition, no scratches, no special marks, no need for additional repairs what so ever, no leaks, rust free. Complete owners and service history.
