Randy K. Germany /Oregon Way too many put away way too many gone !
Wow....that's a mixed up car.
By Vin number, is that a 73 S? 91133xxxxxx
It looks like 74 or later bumpers with turbo stickers on the rear.
Had they started making a turbo in 73/74?
Right hand drive.
2 spoked steering wheel.
Love those seats.
Wonder what the engine looks like.....or what's even back there?
3.0 MFI, turbo, ????
Guess for that kind of money, it must be something very special?
Although personally if I did have that kind of money (dreaming), one of these would be more to my taste.

Does that price include a Honda Certified Warranty?![]()
Pretty well known '74 Paris show car... it was in Excellence last year. It's spent most of its life in Australia.

Car is known down under. Last sold by "The Classic Throttle Shop" a specialist car dealer in Sydney didn't know it had made its way to the USA though. Local Porsche distributor had it converted by factory as article states.

Life is way too short to drive boring cars.
as Clyde and Carl said this is a well documented car, and is particularly well known in Australia.
Originally: 1973 Paris show car Turbo (with dummy engine), based on 1973 S coupe Chassis # 9113300157. Shell modified to be forerunner of G series IROC cars – same wing etc. Did the tour of world shows including coming to Sydney and Melbourne.
Then back to the factory and stored in a back corner until Alan Hamilton (owner of Porsche distributors for Aust and NZ at the time and a handy racer as well) wanted a RSR 3.0. Even with his pull at the factory he couldn't get an extra one made in the official series and all the orders were filled.
so a deal was done to turn the show car chassis - which was already a IROC /RSR type shell - into a factory RSR3.0 in all but chassis number.
It was converted with race engine and all other genuine RSR3.0 bits but not numbered as one. It had a relatively short competition career at top level but was then used as a club car until recently. It also made a wicked road car with the megaphones nominally silencedalthough the lack of an emergency brake (it had 917 brakes) was a disadvantage on the road and at autocrosses. I can remember the RSR brakes being swapped out for turbo ones a number of times for road rally events.
couple of photos attached of Paris show 1973, some historical race shots from about 1977
also there is a picture of the aluminium VIN plate
It is very unusual and is definitely factory. it has the the vin stamped twice - once in the normal place and once in the lower RH side that is normally empty. It also has a "G" in the type box despite the fact that it was originally a 73 car (attached picture is not very clear)

Princeton Honda is about 20 minutes from my home. I'd be happy to stop by and take some photos if anyone is interested in more information or detailed shots of the car. Let me know if that would be helpful to anyone.
