Gotta love that thick post war American metal...
Heck I'm not that old and still remember my dad laying down the back seat and letting my brothers and I roll around on our way to the lake while my mom chain-smoked. We could even fall asleep as we rolled around in the back. Things have changed yes. For the better I'm not sure but they have changed.![]()

Great photo. I love the Woody Woodpecker on the hood. Is that Daytona (Beach)? Road racing with left turns only...
I have early memories of standing in the middle of the bench seat of Dad's '58 Plymouth, the dash-top mirror waiting to impale me on my way through the windshield, both parents with a Salem blazing away and an elbow out the window...

I know this was 1957, don't know where. The 4-digit phone #'s are classic. It looks like it rolled a couple of times. I wonder if he even had a lap belt? Probably not - just grab the steering wheel tight and hold on for the ride. Walked away unscathed in any case![]()
