Anyone know this '65 911 in Folsom, CA?

A friend of mine is looking at this car on the Samba site, but hasn't contacted the owner yet.

It did not sell on eBay at the end of April of this year- auction with more photos is here.

Besides the color change, "custom" front spoiler bumper, seats, etc., it sounds like a decent buy at somewhere around $29k if the guy's description is accurate.

Has anyone actually seen and/or driven the car that could share their thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Damn, that car looks pretty wicked. If it holds up under scrutiny, it looks like a great buy.

Yeah, I saw that last week too. Wishing I had an extra $29k... I agree with Kenik, looks to be a great buy if all is as represented.

    I'm not too far away.

I'd be happy to take a closer look for any serious buyer.

From the photos, it looks like a nice piece.

That is a sweet ride. Great price.

To bad its still not Irish Green. Really like that color on the SWB cars.

The engine does not match the VIN, but is still an aluminum case; this is a bit of a minor issue for sure. It looks good, just needs a proper PPI.

The main reason he passed is that he just can't make the trip out any time soon to look at the car in person.

However, some of the other reasons are:

    * As silly as it might sound, the fact that it's still available and has been for sale since the end of May
    * The color change from Irish green to black
    * The stripes and the hideous front spoiler/bumper
    * Incorrect material on the front seats

Several things just don't seem "right" about the car. It may be that it's still for sale simply because no one has seen it in person and bought it.
