S Carb information needed and a knowledgable opinion about a newly found S coupe...

Hello.........I just recently ended up with a 1967 S coupe, been stored out in the cold dry wilds of the Pacific Northwest near Yakima in Gleed in the state of Washington for about 25 years......the car is number 306021........no motor, trans, front suspension or seats........but a great body tub, dry and not rusty, not wrecked, still has the factory chalk mark under the dash pad, Irish green car........oddly enough I was contacted by a gentleman who bought a 912 out of Walla Walla, been there for about 25 years, this 912 has a 911S motor in in, number 961884........runs well and looks to have possibly been the motor for this car, someone painted the red shroud black, but before I buy the 912 to complete my 911S I want to make sure I am doing the right thing, the carbs are not IDS but IDA.........is that possibly the correct motor and carbs....they are apparently the carbs that were always on the motor......what are anyones thoughts on this...........Thanks!!!

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.

I work solely on IDA3C's and have seen the "S" stamp on IDA bodies and IDS bodies without the "S" stamp. The "S" stamped IDA bodies were IDAs without any of the IDS features. Also my 67S that I've owned since 1977 has no "S" stamps on its bodies.

I just reviewed some of my "S" projects and did find one from a '67S that were IDA bodies stamped with a "S" as shown in the post from Henk above. These did not have the "High Speed Enrichment Tubes" as provided with the IDS bodies.
