    822 transmission

Karim reported project # 822 as:
822 transmission for motor 771 for 804 formula 1 car
I've seen ads for 904's as having an 822 transmission.
Grady Clay mentioned the type 822 as possibly being in the 910.
What do we know about this transmission other than a 5 speed racing transmission for mid engine applications? The gears are apparently compatible with the 901/902 transmissions.
Does anyone have photos, or parts lists?

I have a relatively complete set of 822 gears. I bought them from Vasek Polak when Arnold Wagner (Andial) was parts manager (40 years ago). They are packed away and unavailable. I never used them as I ran larger (than 2.0) engines and the gears look fragile. I do have some more recent images – I’ll look for them.

The 822 gears ‘split’ the 901/904 ratios.
Many of the gears are undercut and cross-drilled.
I have a few 901/904 gears that are similar (undercut, cross-drilled) but I don’t know what part number they listed as.

    More coming.

What is reference: “Karim reported project # 822

    EDIT to remove unrelated.

    Best,
    Grady

I believe you must have the image loaded on a photo hosting site such as photobucket.com. Then you can click the little picture of a mountain/sun landscape which appears on the top of the blue reply box. You must "allow scripted windows", then you can enter the URL of your image.

    Grady, for photos:
    open a new message window
Click the Go Advanced button at the bottom
under Additional Options click on Manage Attachments
browse for files on your computer
    upload, and you are done

I think my mention of Karim was in a comprehensive project list:

Most of what I know of the 822 is what you have posted previously. I'd like to learn more for completeness sake.

From what I know, even the 925/02 shared gears with the 901, so I guess that one is not a true 915 type box.
