Price check: NOS Weber 46 IDA

I've been offered a pair of NOS 46 webers, still in the box.

Does anybody have an idea about correct pricing?

    Thank you,
    Andrea

A bit more detail needed Andrea:

    Italian-made or later US-made version ?

Manifolds (if so, are they original or PMO ?)/linkages included ?

    Good question...

Thanks Andy, is there a way to distinguish US-made ones?
I assume they are italian made, since they are over here, but you never know...
    Here's a photo of them:

US-made versions don't have 'Made in Italy' on the float bowls.

The throttle bodies look a little dull, are these alu or magnesium?

Andy, they are "made in Italy".

Richard, I didn't see them, only a couple of photos at mom. Should the bodies be alu or magnesium?

Pretty sure i've seen used 46's sit for quite a bit less than $3,800.

Of course you're talking $1,200 or so for rehab so that's a consideration. But $3,800 for used, unrebuilt 46's would be waaay high imo.

I have sold a couple of sets of 46's in the past year - one set was totally rebuilt by Harry Bieker to 'as new' condition & the other set had been purchased from the Race Dept in 1969 (complete with original receipt) used for ~ 6 races then put into storage until I bought them.

Both sets sold (without the manifolds) for ~ $4000 - but that was in Europe.

Andrea - I think Raj's figures are about right in the current economic climate - in fact I'd say nearer the top end of his range.

Of course, when you wish to sell this type of part at these prices you will probably not get an 'instant' sale ... it often takes time.

I've sold used sets of 46's for $2000-3000 over the years.
