Body material color disks for Le Mans

I think that at Le Mans and other races the body material was indicated by a disks of different colors, one for fiberglass, one for steel, and so on. Does anyone have information on these? I've searched as well as I could, but I couldn't find anything.

    Thanks,
    Alan

    Anybody have any ideas?

Is there a web site where I can find FIA or Automobile Club de l'Ouest rules for racing in the 60s? That might have what I need.

Here's a picture of a Ferrari model with the kind of disk I'm talking about.

I have a book on sportscar racing in the 1960s. The discs you talk about seem to be only for Le Mans. What they are for it is hard to say, as most of the front running cars (Ferraris, Fords and Porsches, all seem to have a similar coloured disc), while on some of the GT cars there don't appear to be any.

Looking at pics from the '70s they don't seem to be on the cars, but by then sponsorship was rife and spotting a disc on these multi coloured machines seems to be harder.
    Cheers
