That picture of it behind the huge Yucca plant makes it look like a toy model car. Still not sure it is real.

I thought exactly that from the pics ....

but from the owner - off ferrarichat

This car is a real RSR shipped to Brumos .Serial number 911 360 0997. Brumos set up the car with the colors and a fuel cell. Then sold the car to Hagestad. It races Indianapolis and Daytona then retired the car to a collection. Since the car was a late 73 model most the racers quickly switched to the 74 model. So the car wasn't beat up and has the original motor.

High res images are posted here if you like the pictures.

Picture looks real to me. Those blue Agaves can grow to be 20 feet in diameter easy. Plus, there is other cactus and shrubbery behind, and the texture of the dirt suggests real size. The road, too. He just used a wide aperture to get the blurry background. There are also details on the undercarriage that I have never seen on a model.

here are some pictures of the car from my records from when it was for sale a number of years ago, and from its race at Daytona 250 Miles 25.11.1973 where it was 6th driven by Bob Hagestad. It only had 2 races, the other being 3 hours of Indianapolis on 14 October 73 where if DNF.

I wonder what modifications were made to the stacks to accept the air cleaners.
