    Heinzmann Extinguisher Help....again.

Hi all, I've been working away in conjunction with a fire suppression company for over a year now to make a working recreation of the original heinzmann fire extinguisher system. We are at the final prototype stage now and it looks fantastic, to the exact size with the correct brackets, straps and with the decals I've had printed up it looks just like the original, I'm really pleased with how it's worked out and will post some pictures of it shortly.

The only problem I still have is replicating the original aluminum trigger guard/cover. I tried everywhere here in the UK and with metal suppliers in Germany and no-one can come up with the correct 'squashed' diamond style pattern sheet. I've attached one of the few photo's there is of the plate in situ, but it's really difficult to scale the design from a photo, what I really need is to copy an original.

I wouldn't expect anyone who may have one to actually let me borrow it, but what I do ask is if anyone should have this piece would they consider sending me a tracing of a section of the pattern and measuring the depth it goes to. From a tracing I can then set up and programme a laser cutter to have it fabricated all to the correct size and scale.

Any help with this would be most gratefully appreciated! Thanks, Mike

    cheers, Mike

    Ha,

I guess that this is the same bottle judging by the decals. Hardly conclusive is it?

If i am correct i believe that is roy walser's RSR-it was restored-can't be for sure that it is factory shield. The fire system was plumbed by the factory, but if it is like anything brumos did back in the day car was taken apart to some degree and put back together for racing.

I have pictures of 7 or 8 RSR cars going back 35 years and they all have the same squashed diamond design, and so does mine.

Thanks John, I have quite a few detail pictures now so I'm ok, looks like it will have to be done that way.
