The demand for early 911 S Porsches has certainly grown and the 1972 and 1973 models are in the highest demand. This is a great example of a very clean and well-sorted early 911 S Coupe. It has a great documented history with all the right repairs and upgrades performed.

This is one of those early cars that just makes me smile. It drives “so right.” For any of you who have experienced these cars, you know what I’m talking about. Regardless of the money spent on restoration, some cars just don’t drive that great…maybe they are down on horsepower; maybe the suspension doesn’t feel responsive…who knows. However, when you get in a good car, you just know it. This 911 is simply a joy to drive. The power from the 2.7L engine is intoxicating. It has great low-end torque with the classic “S” high-end power. Steering feels fantastic and everything just works the way it should.

The rest of the details on the car are equally as nice. The interior is very tidy and fresh. It has GTS sport seats with houndstooth inserts. They are very comfortable and supportive. The bright work looks original and is also in good condition. The 6” wheels look to be recently restored to the proper finish and are wearing near new tires. The hood badge is original and it is also has very tasteful H1 headlights.

The previous owners kept the car in excellent condition and spared no expense in maintaining it. In fact, we have all the receipts dating back to 1976! About 50,000 miles ago, the engine was completely rebuilt to 2.7L RS specifications.

Within the last few thousand miles the following engine work was performed:

Engine disassembled and case align bored, case inserts, oil bypass mod, shuffle pined, trans case inserts and new shaft bearing. Case done at Ollies. Engine work done at Bill Brewster Porsche in San Clemente, CA. The MFI pump was rebuilt as well. Total cost was almost $10,000!

There are some small paint chips on the hood from normal road use. It could be easily touched-up by a professional. It is not that noticeable unless you are about a foot away. The front steel spoiler was recently repainted and looks great. We have the original 1973 U.S. rubber bumperettes and are included with the car.

We have the original A/C system (see photos). It appears to be complete and in good working order. However, it hasn’t been installed for some time and we don’t know how well it works. It is available for an additional fee and is not included with the purchase of the car.

The car comes complete with tons of records, the original books, Certificate of Authenticity, original tool kit, spare tire, and jack.
