Lots of the jewelery was out, mostly Italian.......
I've been taking pictures of some of these cars for over 20 years.... always a pleasure

David Sydorick had some of the best of his Zagoto collection..
Including the Alfa 1900 SS, the 250 LWB #0515 double bubble, and Fiat 8V Supersonic.

And one more that takes your breath away.......
This is another significant car that has touched my life starting almost 45 years ago....
As teenagers my friend Hector and I spent after school and weekend time hanging out and doing chores at S&A Italian Auto Repair in Van Nuys CA. Sicilian Sal DiNatale was the shop owner and head mechanic. We would do just about anything to just be around the cars that would cycle through for repair in the later 60's.
As an example Sal had three GTO, and two 250 LM customers that would come in for 'regular' maintenance.......
Sal's personal car, the car he would run parts with, was this small, low, loud, beautiful old double bubble Zagato Maserati. When we were kids we knew it was cool, rare, and fast. A conservative 150 HP pushing about 1850 lbs. I remember it had a ratty blue seats, a super grabby clutch, and a big red and white marble swirl shift knob.
Yeah, it was #2121 the only A6G2000 Zagato double bubble in the world...... the car that would later be know as 'the car behind the wall'

Sydorick has had car impeccably restored and has a class win at Pebble..... but to me and a few old locals it will always be Sal's car..........![]()
BTW- As a kid at S&A I was known as 'Chuck'a'da'lighter' ... because I had
a Zippo and would light the older Italian guys cigarettes.........
............. and so it goes

Those Zagato-bodied cars are superb, but your story about the A6G2000 is even better...

Love this thread. We must have met back in the day, Chuck.
Hey Chuck . . . . I was there on Sunday too and agree . . . the Zagato cars were over the top.

Well, they take my breath away. Simply beautiful cars.
