    1968 911S targa barn find

I just picked up a 1968 911S targa soft rear window sportomatic. It actually came from behind a shed, not in a barn. The numbers all look correct, cardex on the way to confirm. It is in really bad condition but is basically complete. It last ran in 2005 but after sitting outside for so long the engine does not turn over. It is white but the original color was a special order champagne yellow. The paint code tag is present but painted over white. I can read the code though at just the right angle. I think this would qualify as a "rare" car. If anyone is interested I can post some photos. I don't have the time or budget to restore it right now so it may have to sit for a while.

Yes, post some photos. I'd like to know the full paint code on the badge if you can read it.

Photos would be very nice... please post the VIN and engine# as well, there were very few S Sportos built let alone SWT.

Chris, both our '68 S and T Targa Sportos have 5.5" Fuchs. Aren't they standard fitment for '68?

OK, the vin is 11850425, the engine code is 901/08, the engine number is 4180215 and the color code is 16153-L. All fuchs are present including spare. No tool kit that I can see but I need to clean it out. It has a bunch of junk in it. One fuchs looks wider than the other 4. I will get it up on a lift and confirm the wheel size this week end. I will post pictures as soon as I figure out how (attachment?).

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.
