Thread: Scheel Seat Question

    Scheel Seat Question

I have a new pet project and I'm in the fact-finding stage.

Does anyone have photographs of or information on the tracks/sliders used on early Scheel seats?

In particular I'm looking for 911R mounting solutions be it fixed or adjustable.

I am not interested in aftermarket sliders or mounts, however ... just the real-deal factory stuff.

    Thanks for any help offered.

Marco - I've seen different versions of sliders used on early Scheel seats but this style was used on the 914/6 GT &, I think, 911R too (also found on NSU 1000 TTS :

I'm sure Raj will be along soon with pictures of the slider arrangement on his R.

Armando currently has a set of sliders on EBay that covers a wide range of Porsches including the 911R, price is $2500.00. The item number on EBay is 150666619404. I , just yesterday, got a set of Scheel seats, not racing buckets, but they do have a base and sliders. It has a single locker so that may mean its at least middle 1970's? If anyone recognizes the seats please speak up. I will take pictures and send them later in the day.

I must be missing something on the $2500 Scheel sliders. Looks like a adjustable height single locker Scheel slider. Took me almost a year to sell one for $50.00.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Andy, great photos ... I remember a discussion thread on the board about those crossbar mounts.

I wonder, is there a tilting Scheel base frame similar to the early pre-double locker Recaro? Or, better yet, will the Scheel bolt to the tilting Recaro base?

Pardon my ignorance, but who is Gerrit (MNL)?

I don't know how early that means. But I saw something about this on a discussion here somewhere , it seemed like it was said there was both a Scheel tilt base & recaro version. So I saved copies of the photos as there was some construction differances shown ...here they are. Someone else can probably chime in and verify if these are indeed as I have them marked and also if both are porsche application (if there is any differance in these between car types) .

First two photos Scheel , second two Recaro :

    +1
250$ for the sliders for one seat would be a good price for both seller and buyer. I think it might be a typo.
I know two Seats including these sliders which you could get for 500 Euros.
