Finish question for tall magnesium intake manifolds for Weber 46's

I need to know what is the current thinking regarding a proper finish for restoring these tall manifolds, I assume that it may be something similar to the finish used to protect the magnesium engine cases.

    Thank you!

I've had a few sets & all were finished the same (but can't guarantee original) - just a thin coating of matt black (paint ?) ...
