This car sold for ~$65k, almost as is, from Craigslist Idaho in August 2011. Prior Owner in Idaho was the one who imported the car in 1971.
The new seat inserts are not the same pattern as when the car was advertised on Craigslist.

I didn't look at the ebay photos close, but the seller must have done a bunch of work.

I talked to the long time Idaho seller. He had the car repainted in the early 90s, and didn't put the trim back on. I knew just from talking to him I wouldn't like the paint quality. That, and it had an unopened motor. Sounded like a really good car, but in my mind it would need a motor, probably a gearbox, and a complete exterior restoration.

Having seen this car before it sold:

1) Driver, not a show car.
2) Needs paint. Paint lines everywhere, overspray here and there. Its fine for a driver. Its been painted more than once and in some places more than twice.
3) Interior, seats were redone. Remaining interior needs done as well.
4) Engine looks like what is was...a nearly 100k, 40 year old engine that has never been apart.


Will make a great guilt free driver. It presented like a great driver that will need a complete restoration sooner than later.

I knew I'd want to strip it!

The founder of the Scott goggle co took European delivery of the car and brought it back to Sun Valley.

If I remember correctly the Idaho seller was the second owner. He was completely overwhelmed by the interest int he car, and decided to have a kind of auction. I'd have held it against him, but he'd owned the car for a really long time.
