    Early 65 on eBay

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/911-P...bc3f031d#v4-42

Listed as 66, 300824. Non adjustable shock towers, but appears 2 screw horn grills.

Considerable rust, but not too bad.

    No affiliation.

Just a heads up for anyone looking for an early car (BARON).

I just saw that, too. I hadn't realized it was actually a '65, but the VIN is, in fact, for a '65. It looks to be mostly original. How high do you think the bidding will go? I'm tempted, and live nearby.

This should be interesting... so, did he know what he had? I guess there still out there.

$17.5K with 6 days to go. Interesting, indeed. I don't think the seller knows what he has. He could have spent about an hour to clean it up a little. And, of course, with a COA confirming that it's number's matching (if it is) would boost the price. In any case, it quickly went out of my range.

I contacted the seller explaining that if he could add a photo of the engine number and perhaps more details (any docs, history file, what carbs etc) it would massively help the value. I got a 1 sentence reply. "I dont have the engine number" . Doh.

Interesting - I see that it has those early pattern cloth seats. Look at the dash; is this an early leather dash, or a re-do?

I am new on this forum but a regular on DDK (partly due to being UK based). I have a 73 RSR replica at the moment (http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/vie...p?f=28&t=32686) and I have been looking for a 65 car. Janski's Finland car is potentially an option

I would very much appreciate any advice re this ebay car....on the assumption that the seller is not more forthcoming, what visual clues are there in the photos to support the idea that this is a genuine, relatively original, early 65 car?

    thanks Dan

It has the early dash with beveled edge wood, non wrap around knee bar, small ignition key, It has very early cloth pattern seats. the front latch panel is '65 only. And the serial # , beginning with 300, is that of a very early car.
Those are very small basics - I'm sure the really experienced guys will chime in here.
