    914-6 / 914 parts needed

I am starting a list of "stuff" I will need to collect for my recent 914-6 addition. As the front and rear bumpers for 70 were the same for 914s and 6s, I would be looking for a decent set. Note that I currently have those, but they could use some work. I need to see what is out there before I commit to restoring them. Also looking for the front bumper top rubber, and lower steel valence. Let me know, and closer to 80302 the better.

I have an original spare tire (Pirelli) and wheel that came out of a 914-6 if interested.

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

I seem to remember the rear 914/6 bumper being a bit different than the 914/4. As I recall, the angles near the license plate area were sharper on the six. Perhaps a 914/6 guru could comment on this.

    Rear Bumper

    Bobby,
You are correct. I believe the distiction was that the 70 (maybe to 71) rear bumper did have sharper curves by the license plate. So I should be looking for one of those. No sense accumulating "nice" wrong parts to replace the "not-so-nice" wrong parts I already have. I have been doing that for years with my early 911 stuff.

1970 cars were all the same. 4 or 6.

Inside radius closest to lic plate is a sharper angle- if memory serves me.
One would assume the one on ebay is a 74 from bumper guard holes.
I think 70-71 were the same. If I'm wrong someone will correct me.
