    Help finding engine in Florida

Looking for any help with locating the original engine for my 1968 911 SWT. The car spent most of it's life in Florida, from 1983 until about 2001 around the Lantana area with Kenneth N Chupurdy, and then from 2001 until a year or so ago with Patrick T Maguire in Clearwater Florida. The engine number I'm looking for is # 3280377 and trnsmission # 3280643 (902/1) I've searched around but haven't had much luck finding Porsche repair shops or mechanics in those areas that might have worked on this car and hope someone that lives there can help??

To motivate anyone who might have an engine sitting in their garage, storage, etc. I'll pay a $500.00 "finders" fee if the engine is successfully located from information provided by that person.

    Thanks, Mark-Seattle

    Mark,

I'm a Suncoast PCA member in Tampa and I cross-posted your info on our local club website. Hope it helps in your search and if you want me to put togther a list of shops in the Tampa/Clearwater area that work on air cooled cars let me know and I can send you their contact info. Most of them are advertisers in our monthly newsletter (http://suncoastpca.org/images/storie...ofilejune3.pdf).

Also, here's a link to the Gold Coast PCA newsletter for the Lantana area shops (http://www.goldcoastregion.org/LinkC...c%3d&tabid=101)

    Good luck with your search!

Mark, got your message and now have the details. I will see what I can dig up for you. No finders fee required. I was on one of these searches once and did find the engine. There are lots of great people on this forum and with the collective resources, we can hopefully help you out.
