    9113301430

Dear all, I'm posting these information hoping they can be of common interest. As you may know, the 9113301430 is the last serial number of the 1973 F-series 2.4 S, therefore one of the very last of the classic long-hooded mainstream 911 produced and so an high potential collector item. I inspected it some months ago, it was at that time stored in a garage in Italy and not been driven for some years.
The car was originally delivered to Italy, then bought some years later by an Italian guy allegedly working in the movie industry who brought it to the US (the car apparently is still registered there). About a decade ago he decided to bring it back to Italy, where it currently resides.
The car was originally finished in Light Ivory but has been later professionally repainted in "Blut Orange". The chassis appears straight to a summary visual check, but we didn't check it enough to conclude on it. The engine was of the correct type and from the serial it is likely to be "matching numbers" but we didn't fire it. It seems was rebuilt by a local specialist and the pump too, but I have absolutely no evidence corroborating that claim.
Generally speaking the car looks sound but many fittings are not correct and many modifications should be removed to revert the car to its pristine state.
I had a long telephone conversation (1 hour +) with the owner, then in the US, discussing the car. He was open to a sale but we couldn't find an agreement on the price. He was happy with the car as modified (according to his specs, he said) whereas my intention was to restore it so we ended up with quite a big gap. I don't know what the current status of the car is. Here are some pics.

From and era when it was "just a car". Door jamb area looks pretty bad for a "professional" paint job. Lot's of work. Let's compare some underhood VIN stampings with other cars that are "known".

    Good luck!

I did a double take. My 911S VIN#854 of the same MY has the same wheel ! And a 131-9-2 paint code but repainted black. What is an 8-2 ? Karman ?My PO too was happy with the way the car was, with it's MEI stereo, speakers butchered into the front door pockets etc. But he was happy to sell at a discount to someone who would lovingly restore it to its rightful shape. I hope you can be equally convincing.

Actually, I don't intend to buy it, it was some months ago, we didn't agree on the price so for me it's a dead story ... as far as the respray is concerned, I should have have written "professional" between "quotes".
