    Reproduction sun visors

Has anybody bought these reproduction sun visors that are being offered on EBAY? The EBAY link is:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/110933316186...84.m1438.l2649

The company is called Harrington Group, they manufacture parts in Vietnam.

I need a pair for my 1970 911 Targa. Any other recommendations where I can find a pair?

    Thank you for your help.

Porsche Classic now sell them and they are popping up everywhere.

I have a pair of them in my car MY69 which are black and cream, the only flaw, if I can call it that is that the cream is ever so slightly different.

Having said that seeing as you have a targa (black/black) I think you'll be very happy.

I've put a black headliner in my car - would targa black/black fit in a '69 coupe?

John the mounts for the Targa are different then the coupe, and I haven't seen the Porsche classic ones in black/black, but that doesn't mean they're not available.

Unless I missed something, their application is totally wrong! Coupe sunvisors do not fit "65 to 72" as most of us already know. Also what does this "model" stuff mean. I've been aroung for a while and have never heard of "F" or "G" models. The copy below is taken from their EBAY description

"Brand new sun visors for Porsche 911 F-Model and all Porsche 912 models (1965-1972). Set consists of 2 sun visors (left and right with vanity mirror on the RH side),
    2 x pivots and 2 x clips.

These sun visors are for Porsche 911 F-models from 1965-1973 and all Porsche 912 models, but can also be fitted to the Porsche 911 G-model up until 1989."

    Regards

F series was 1973 and G was 1974. I think they are using the terms genericaly to mean long & short hood cars..

    Hey Jim,
I've been seeing this for a while regarding the "series", a lot of the european books have it. Brian Long's book 1963 to 1971 has it described in the back as:
    O Series 1965 to 1967 MY
    A Series 1968 MY
    B Series 1969 MY
    C Series 1970 MY
    D Series 1971 MY

So are they "after the fact" terms invented by some unknown person? Kind of like "Pre-A" in the 356 World, except that term is generally acknowledged to have been coined by Brett Johnson.

PS: Those breakdown in year models make no sense, by the way

    Letter on VIN plate

    Jim
Take a look at the aluminun VIN plate in a 911, the box to the right of the box with TYP stamped in it contains the letter. My 1973 RSR says ( F ), and a plate for a 1975 911 says ( H ). I had not heard or noticed these letters until about 2 years ago?
