FS 1970 911T Sun Roof Project

    FOR SALE
1970 911T Sun Roof Coupe - New Lower Price
    VIN 9110121947

    $18,500

This is an exceptional opportunity to take advantage of an in-process, professional restoration of a rare, numbers matching, 911T. The restoration was commissioned by, and under the direction of Dick Koenig, a noted Porsche restoration expert. The project began with a complete and drivable car with moderate rust issues and minimal collision repairs. It is estimated that 98%+ of the metal repairs, such as replacement of the floor pan, rocker panels, rear torsion bar support, front suspensions support pan and other minor rust repairs, have been completed. The panel fit and gaps are very good but will require final fitting and adjustments during the paint preparation phase. The exterior was both sand and media blasted and the first stage of filler and epoxy primer application and rough sanding have been completed.

The car is fitted with an ultra rare, factory, sun-roof, which is confirmed on the COA. The original exterior paint is a unique Pastel blue per the COA. The engine, 6106883, also COA matching, was running when the restoration project was started but it should be disassembled and inspected before installation.

Over 95% of the original parts are included in the sale. These include the original interior; all glass; four correct 6” X 15” deep dish Fuchs wheels dated 1969; dash cover and gauges needing restoration; steering and suspension; correct brakes; fuel, electrical and engine components as well as two Wabasto gas heaters. The original engine compartment sound deadener was removed but is available. The correct wheels are not shown in the photo album but these photos will be added in the future. The wheels shown on the car will be replaced with the correct ones.

The restoration has proceeded in other areas beyond the body. The engine tin was media stripped and then powder-coated with a proper satin black. The fuel tank also was stripped and then refinished in the correct color and texture. In addition, many but not all of the rubber seals have been purchased together with other new parts. These include new fog light panels for the front bumper, door check stops and an exterior rear view mirror. The rest of the car, including upholstery, one bumper guard, window frames, bright trim and suspension will need restoration.

This 1970T sunroof coupe is an exceptional opportunity to own an early 911 with a minimum investment and at a fraction of the cost to duplicate the work previously completed.

The car is located in Denver, Colorado and is available for inspection.
