    911S - 305142 built July 1966 - Factory Press/Literature car located in France

FYI, the french magazine Speedster http://www.speedster-magazine.com reports that the 911S 305142 Polo red is located in France.

According to the article, this car served as the factory press car for the very first 911S as well as being the subject of 911S literature.
Built in July 21 1966 as the 41th car since XXX101, its first factory plate was -among others- S-ZL 130.
On July 28th 1966, Porsche presented its new model "911Super" to the press. 305142 then served as the 911S show car at the Paris car salon (October 6th 1966) and was featured in many international press reports, including a factory press release with Ferry Porsche sitting on his hood.

In 1976 it was sold to a French resident and the car received another 2.0l engine, stamped "AT" (for Austausch i.e. Exchange) by the factory. Restored (to what extent I dont know) by Patrick Pugin http://www.art-restoration.eu/en/nous-ecrire.php

Wow Karim. that is a great article thank you very much for that, please see more interior pics of my car. its very similar but not identical though. Note that in the press car there is a plug covering the threaded hole below rear quarter window. this is where my cars seat belt top pivot point mounts too. so that is very strange coincidence? My big question is then if the factory fitted these seat belts, there is every possibility the factory converted the interior to black from beige. I have had several people including a long time Porsche Apolsterer confirm these are original materials. But then who added the flat sheet metal floor and when? and when was the chassis sills welded? I am starting to think of a possibility the factory would do a repair like this. Maybe this car did allot of testing in its 2 years of service and was in need of a big overhaul by the time the sold it on. Porsche might have been testing on sand roads, salt covered iced up road and could have easily done 100 000km in 2 years if it was worked hard for testing at only 200km a day?

    Greg, noted.
The inertia belts look odd and as another member sugested, it looks first like a crude update.
Since reading the infos about your 911S barn find, one wonders if the inertia belt not got mounted by the factory.
If they went testing the cars, who cares about looks. You might contact the french restaurer of 305142 if he kept the belts because always in the car. They look similar to the one in 305142.

I agree that both cars might got an overhaul before get sold to the public or given to some dealer/distributor.
If you read the story of the 7 prototypes (13xxx) in Tobias Aichele's book "911 forever", one can see that they received multiple updates (interiors) and/or engine swaps, until either got scrapped or to be sold.

Looks like whoever installed those didn't like the press.
