Proper finishes for various seatbelt hardware?

About to restore 2 pairs of seat belts- I know that the male buckle fasteners are obviously chrome- are the rest of the mounting point pieces and adjustment pieces within the male buckle all clear/silver zinc? One of the mounting point fasteners looks like its chrome but the rest are matte/zinc- it could be that the seatbelt strap rubbing it made it smooth/shiny but not sure.

    Thanks,
    Marco

    Hi Marco,
They should all be silver zinc and clear. I have just taken apart about 30 of these to get replated.

    plating belts hardware

..or sometimes yellow...On that note I think the yellow/gold plated were offered as replacement belts so not installed by the factory from 1972. Even later, 77-ish (?) the mounting plates were black anodized. I would go for Zinc plated clear.
