I've searched and seen the casting number chart for early heads. My heads have "901.104.305.02" and "k1819b" numbers. They do have '67 S sized valves, and are from motor 960029. What are they?

k1819B are castings for regular 911 and 911L. Perhaps with such an early engine they used the regular castings and machined the ports and valve seats to 911S sizes.
Measure the ports and seats. Valves should be 42/38 and ports 36/35 for 911S.

Thanks Andy, yes the valves are 42/38 but the ports are 35/32. Weird. Maybe someone "upgraded" these to S valves.

i think you may have "e" heads. Then again in 68 they did not have an "S" only "e or l"

Hello together,
today I was looking for the same topic, because I was confused a little bit. I have a cylinder head with "901.104.305.02" which was produced in 2/67 and should be for an early 911S. The engine number was around 9603XX. The valve sizes are S specific with 42/38 and ports of 35/33. The casting is K1819C. Its seems to be too early for an E cylinder head. The date and there were no modifications for the MFI. Moreover the normal 911 had smaller valves.
It would be great, if somebody could help with some information.

Here's a nice little chart.

I know this thread is a tad old, however I also have a set of heads with casting numbers (901.104.305.02) that according to the chart matches 67S/68S heads and casting markings (k1819b) that match non-S heads. The measurements all fall in line with 67S/68S specs, however I'm unsure as to whether these are truly S heads or just modified 911 heads.
I'm inclined to think that the early batches of S cars had modified 911 heads until such time as new castings were made.. does that seem reasonable or am I being too hopeful?![]()

Sorry. This is where things are getting absolutely ridiculous. Here's a supplies list that we use for concours level engine rebuilds:
Cylinder Heads:
Valve size: ☑️
Port size: ☑️
Casting number (long #): ☑️
Date range: ☑️
Excellent condition: ☑️
Quit worrying about minutiae and nuances that don't make a hill-o-beans difference: ☑️
I've said it here many times before: The good Dr would roll in his grave if he saw the pettiness we were distracted with.
Greg,
If you don't want to use them I will take them off your hands in a heartbeat. Good luck with your project; sounds like it's going to be sweet.

I had a feeling this would solicit such a response - I appreciate the needed slap back into reality Frank.. I ventured too far into the weeds on this one. Thanks again for the 67S front suspension (with proper date stamps).
