Auto shippers and customs broker Europe to USA

I am looking for a shipper and customs broker, to bring a car in from Europe to USA.
I am surprised by the costs to get through customs is almost the cost of the shipper/transport company.
    Any personal experiences?
    Thanks

    Hello BC,
I recently bought a 71 Alfa from the Netherlands and used Matt at Exim Cars of Lexington, KY for arranging shipping, managing customs, etc. All I did was arrive at the port with the papers that Matt had prepared and after plenty of waiting, picked up my Alfa and brought her home. Shipping cost to Baltimore was about $850; add taxes, fees, customs, more fees, more taxes, etc. and my total out of pocket cost for importation was $2,200.
