Thread: Magnesium 911R Inlet Manifolds

    Magnesium 911R Inlet Manifolds

We have been looking for a pair of tall 911R style inlet manifolds for the last couple of years but without success.

We missed a set of Tilton (?) Aluminium Replicas on EBay last week which sold for just less than $500.

We don't want to use the tall PMO manifolds as the appearance is too diffferent from the original.

I am just getting quotes to make new tooling and to precision sand cast them in an AZ91E Magnesium Alloy.

Any one interested and what would be a reasonable price?

I will be interesting ; it's always a matter of definition of 'reasonnable' ; depending if the price reference is the PMO or the original 911R ones...

Chris, we have a matched set of original 911R tall manifolds. PM me if you want us to loan them to you.

    Cheers,

Good tooling to put the patteren onto a board and control the running system so that the castings would be consistent is around $5000 with the core boxes.

I am just waiting to find a manifold as a pattern and I have been promised one from a 906 in the next 2-3 weeks

FYI, the 906 is a different casting if trying to reproduce the 911R tall intakes

-As I mentioned in another thread and in my PM's to you Chris, we have an original 911R (not 906) set we can loan you, if you need them. (We actually have 2 sets, one for sale on our website and one on our race engine... so V-8, your potential purchase is separate from this proposed loan to Chris.)

I could be interested in a set depending on accuracy, quality, and price.

Im interested. I was offered the eBay Tilton manis for $600 but thought that was too high. I do remember passing on a single 911R manifold for $30 at Roundtop back in the 90s.
