    Window regulator

How can you tell what year a window regulator was made for. I cannot find any dates, and I have 3 different styles, all manual, and I believe they are from 1965 to 1973.

Recently it was noted that the Targas have a stop/limiter on them!

Here are the 3 different window regulators for long hood cars.
Picture # 1 top to bottom:
66 and earlier right hand regulator
    67/68 right hand regulator
69 to 73 right hand regulator
    Picture # 2
Close up of 66 and 67/68 regulator (note the difference in the distance between the 4 bolts) The later one can be easily interchanged by drilling 2 new holes for the 2 rear bolts.
    Picture # 3
Closeup of a LWB right hand regulator.

Note: Coupes and Targas use the same regulator for manual windows. They are different for electric windows, though.

    Jim,
My 67 car on the drivers side is hard to roll up the last 2 or 3 inches. It can be done but I usually help the process by pulling the window up with my other hand. I hear it could be the felt or what might be worn on the regulator that can be replaced or repaired?
    Thanks, Chris

Thanks for the pictures, I was going to take pictures of mine but just haden't done it yet. My three are just like in your pictures, it was the middle one that was throwing me off. The 67 to 68.
    Thanks again

You might need to make a tilt adjustment. It's at the end of the bottom arm as shown in Jim's pictures. The nut is towards the door, it can't be seen in these pictures.

    Jim,
Is that the gismo that fails in the center of the spring on your (#3) late regulator?
I thought I saw somewhere that someone is reproducing that spring mount?
