Thanks, for posting that. There are no more secrets anymore. That's for sure. Even hot rods get mentioned.

Great video for anyone who reads the value threads on this site . . .
To be honest, I think the 912 discussion is awesome (see signature).

Definitely informative. Frankly, I thought they skipped over a couple of models, including some of the water-pumpers, that at least bore mentioning. If nothing other than to say "stay away". Also conspicuously absent, was any mention of 914s. Especially the -6 derivative. Then again, I'm admittedly biased.

Fascinating to watch. Perhaps not the most surprising news for those who follow the market, but I thought it was a very thorough presentation by experts with lengthy track records. Differentiating between types of Targas and talking about 912s was very refreshing. Seems the hot rod, outlaw, R Gruppe, MW label is still being sorted out - with the general belief that originals cars will always be worth more. The '74-77 US 911 took a bit bigger hit than I think it deserves, and the U.S. Carrera was only available in '74-75 (not '76). But otherwise I agreed with the viewpoints.

Interesting seminar. But unfortunate that the experts don't take the time to educate themselves on the 74 US Carrera, lumping it in as just another mid-year car with engine problems![]()
Agreed, Curt.
The US 1974 Carrera can almost be seen as a separate model. It’s a unique transition between the Euro ‘73 and US ‘75 types:
1. Still lightweight (less than 50 pounds heavier than a '73E)
2. Good power (similar HP and same 0-60 times as a '73E according to Car and Driver)
3. Still great sound (same exhaust system as a '73E)
4. Same ducktail and suspension as fully optioned '74 Euro Carrera
5. Small rear bumperettes
6. Lack of the twin thermal reactors and exhaust gas recycling (EGR) device that were added to the 1975-77 California models
