FS: NOS - 1971 Virgin S-Calipers - Still in ATE boxes

OK... even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. On a tip from one of our customers, I hit eBay and found.... a pair of NOS early S-Calipers. 1971 to be exact. Hey, I have a 1971 911, I should put them on there! Naaaaaa... these need to go to that special project. That once in a lifetime 71 911S build.

These are still in their original boxes. Never been mounted. they still have the original plugs in the banjo fittings. Original, original, original!!

So... 1971 for sure, they have the circles and the have the X in the circle making them late 1971. Some 70's had the circle as they worked their way through the old piston inventory. Then, when they got the new pistons, they got the X stamped into the casting and all subsequent S-Calipers had the circle and the X.

Time capsule history gang. We're absolutely stoked to have these in our grubby little paws. Inquire within if you are the correct buyer for these. Asking $1,995.00 plus shipping.

    Factory original boxes:

Tucked away all safe & sound:

    Never mounted to a strut.

Original banjo plug still in place on both of these:

Black M6x1x30 fasteners as they appeared on early calipers. Later calipers with the dichromate finish had the yellow of gold colored fasteners:

    Pristine machine cuts

    Stock tin coated compensating lines:

    Rubber protector on the line:

New Old Stock pistons installed at the ATE factory:

Crisp logo, extra metal around the stamped edges and pristine:

On the one that I have there are faint ink stamps. Do these have those marks?

Don't mean to hijak this thread - I was just wondering about the difference between 'S' calipers (brakes) and non-S brakes.

I was told by an authority last weekend in Pinehurst (thanks Magnus), that my '72 'T' has 'S' brakes. Can someone tell me or show me an example of the difference?

The easy answer is S=Aluminum and T=Steel. You can see examples of both on Eric's web site:
    http://www.pmbperformance.com/lwb-early-911-brakes.html

T & E cars could be ordered with "S" options and this may be how your car found itself with the aluminum calipers (or they were added @ a later date as an upgrade).

    NICE calipers Eric!
