Better not re-new your subscriptions for 2014, looks like Road and Track is slated for death.

I bought my first R&T in years, because Magnus's car was on the cover.......Its so rare to see him in print I just had to buy itNice article, good to see so much attention on the hobby. I was surprised how much the magazine has changed for the better, now I'm sorry to see it go.

I have had a subscription to R&T since i was 12 or so. I must confess, however, to missing Sports Car International. That was a nice mag.

I have been a subscriber for 30 years but have seen all 4 of the majors have the same articles each month. I read Car and Driver first because they inject some humor which make a more interesting read. R&T just got less relevant, sad but true.
Road and Track was more technical and Car and Driver more funny, but now the C&D guys have those Cayman dynamics guys to do vehicle dynamics...
I guess the more from So Cal to Michigan was the writing on the wall.
Now, the most important thing is: What happens to Peter Egan? Will he start writing for Car and Driver?

I agree. I can do without Road and Track, but not without Peter Egan.

That article is SPECULATIVE. The article also states that Volvo, JC Penney and Mitsubishi will all die in 2014.
Considering R&T just did an issue on the 911, they have Peter Egan and they just did a major redesign we should all renew for multiple years in support!

The article may be speculative but have you seen it lately? Saw last months issue and it was so thin it felt like death.
How can they fade away with a cover like this?

The latest make-over of R & T confuses me. I have a hard time telling the articles from the advertising. It even took me a while to find the page numbers. Seems like they just had a make-over a few years ago didnt they ? What is the reason for the frequent changes? Just when I almost get used to the "new look", it changes again. Same with Car and Driver. C & D is hard to read also with their most recent look. I notice C & D is looking more and more like a comic book for car guys.
But since I have been subscribing to both magazines for around 50 years, I suppose it is because of my age that I have a hard time adjusting to change. I hope Peter Egan hangs around and keeps writing for a good long while.
