    FS: @autokennel - '85 Carrera special order

I think this car looks like a black toad...not mine

As part of my Porsche education (more of a BMW guy), Paul is always sharing new and unusual examples. Apparently, this is very rare because of the way it was ordered from the factory and it has one-SoCal owner from new.

Cool car. I really like it but it looks like based on the documentation the "conversion" was done at the dealer not the factory. It is not listed on the COA. Do you really think Porsche would repaint the entire car after adding the rear ducts and side skirts? It is a black car! From what I see it is a Fac Turbo look that was dealer modified. I don't see the proof the car left the Porsche factory this way.

Thanks Don. We have a bunch of pictures of the importation documentation from Porsche that verifies this. Also, the COA MSRP matches the same as from the Porsche dealer as delivered. I know it gets tricky with these older Porsches as the factory made plenty of mistakes on the COAs. Attached is one of the pictures of the importation documents. We have more on our website. Also, we just got a huge folder of documents from the owner that we are just sorting out (and translating from German) that seem to verify this as well. We will be posting those as well.

    Cheers,

    Paul

Also, yes, the order for the flares was done once construction on the car was already started. The order was placed at end of December/beginning of Jan. and the car was finished being built around January/Februray. The flares had to be done at the end of the car being built as well. Would love if someone had access to the cardex...too bad those days are gone.

Owner approved to lower price to $42,500. This is a great deal for a future collectible.
