    Clutch pedal feels sticky?

My clutch pedal does not feel very smooth and has a slight binding feeling to it that I can feel through my foot. So smooth releases are more difficult. Is there a grease fitting or service point that I should inspect. I have not rebuilt my cluster, but the PO said he did. I have not looked at it to see if the bushings look new or not. Thanks for suggestions.

My first suspicion would be the clutch cable and/or the bowden tube.

Are these parts that can be serviced w lube or does it have to be replaced with new if you feel the binding?

You didn't say if this is your 66 or the 73, but if the 66 you can remove the cable from the bowden tube and inspect it for broken strands and then lubricate if okay. The bowden tube has a plastic sleeve inside and when that wears out you need to replace the tube. The 73 has the cable and bowden tube together, if the plastic wears out in the tube the whole assembly must be replaced. Usually it is the plastic sleeve wearing out, remove the cable and work it through the sleeve by hand, you can better feel roughness that way. If none of that then it may be the pedal cluster, but now that the cable is out you can decide if the roughness is there.

Mark, unless you know the age of your cable I would replace it. I did this in my 914 when Ed commented it felt crunchy and the change in pedal feel and effort was incredible.
