Polo Red Single Stage Paint in California

    All,

I have to paint the front hood and the front fenders of my 1969 Polo Red (6802) baby. I am quite confused about which paint to get, and from where. I assume, that the original paint is a single stage, solvent based acrylic urethane. I tried to get the Glasurit line-22 paint, however, this paint cannot be bought in California. I saw, that Sherwin-Williams has a single stage urethane paint.

Please let me know your experiences.

    Thank you,
    Darius, Del Mar, Calif.

I am in SoCal local to you and just had my 66 911 painted with Glasurit 22 in Polo red. I looked long and hard before going with this brand. The color match was spot on to the factory paint and I did not have a problem obtaining the paint. Really glad I went with this paint, more expensive and worth every penny. You are welcome to come over and view the paint job to see if that is what you want. Dave rgruppe304@gmail.com

Expert P car painter in SoCal told me that a two stage paint is much easier to match/blend if you aren't going to do the entire car and likely original paint has some fading/changes from environs.
