    FS: early 912 trannie

I was going to use this in my 71 softie resto, but it has the 6 bolt drive flanges, and I need the 4 bolt 2 pin flanges so it is up for sale. Type number is 902/02 which makes it a 68 912 box with AFMSX. Nice clean shape. Fork and throughout bearing included and in good shape. Includes tach drive, reverse switch and fresh replated throttle bellcrank. SOLD

I believe that is 1968 only 912. What is the serial and what is the date code near the diff cover please.

Can't you just bolt in the 4-bolt/2-pin flanges?

Unfortunately they are different in several ways. The outer width side to side is different and the OD of the shafts requires the 4 bolt flange be machined. There may be other differences, I am not aware of. I have another 4 bolt trannie so I am going that direction.

One that particular trans (68 YM trans, not just an "early 912 trannie"), yes you can "just bolt in 4 bolt 2 pin flanges" if you know which ones to use.

    Ciao
