    euro 911L

Does anyone know if my euro 1968 911L that was built for Germany has a standard euro S engine or did it get the detuned U.S. engine for German delivery ?????? Steve

I thought L's were only US delivery and they were a tuned down version of the S in order to pass US Emission Restrictions...

You need to verify, but I think there was a third engine version for a Euro L that was neither 'S' spec nor was the same as a U.S. normal. I seem to remember doing one of the Euro engines and it had different valve sizes among other changes. Should find the info in the 68 Spec book.

Euro 911Ls had 130HP. Same as the US 911Ls. No Smog pump, though.
    68 European 911Ts had 110HP.

The ROW 68L coupe had several different engines (see below), US 68L only came with the 901/14.

Anybody know why a Euro Targa 911L would have a different engine # (901/30) as compared to a Euro 911L with a 901/06 standard or 901/07 Sporto? Chris

As to the Question of the difference with Euro and US 911L engines-- different distributor, no valve to let the engine idle down slowly (a smog thing) different carbs euro has 40 IDA 3c's Chris
