Weird engine lid on an early Targa

    All,
There was a pic posted this week on the FB Sreg. There is first rank, a red Targa with a super cool engine lid. Who knows where it is coming from ? Any clue where to find this ?

The car sold at Mecum Monterey, to a dealer in St Louis, Daniel Schmitt. It was on eBay after that, didn't sell. It had the original lid on it, but they had that one sitting on a cart. Ralph had it made a very long time ago, whoever made the Shelby Daytona bodies made it.

There is a thread that turned into one about that car here:

Thank you John. This seems to be a nice piece of work. Any feedback on the efficiency ?

The car is currently owned by a list member and shows up regularly at our Early911S Registry/RGruppe Coffee and doughnutfest in Emeryville, Ca.

As I recall, the custom body parts were made by Troutman and Barnes at Ralph's request.

The ducktail increases airflow through the engine, without the additional drag this probably caused. Very nice work though.
