    View all option

I noticed on Garage journal that they have a view all option, so that you can see a long thread without having to go page by page. Is that something that would be a possible upgrade? It seems like a handy feature.

    Rob,

I not sure I get what you're asking?
If you are asking if there is a way to go to the last posting on a multi-posted thread... YES, there's a small double down arrow next to the thread title on the forum page that will take you to the first post you've haven't read yet. OR, when you go into a multi-posted thread there is a page number (if it's a muli-page thread) on top of the thread that lets you go to a given page, or last page. And last, on the forum page there is a small double right arrow next to the last posters name that gets you directly to the last post...

I might be missing it, but what does the site do that you've given us that ours doesn't?

    Hey Chuck,

The "View All" button basically turns a 50+ page thread into a single page. Its nice to be able to scroll through dozens of posts on these really long threads, like this one with 107 replies, http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...ighlight=rally

    Is that clearer?? thanks, Rob

    Thumbs up

    Yep Rob that's clearer.........

One click turns a 176 page thread (Jack Olsen's garage) into a one page (after you wait for all the pages to load up) scrollable read......... got it.... and I can see that it could be a time saver.

I'll ask if our version of vBulletin can accommodate this feature.... Thanks for the tip, and the link to a pretty cool site...

    Cheers

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

That'd be really handy on the Rennlist where the 991GT3 "fires" has 221 pages (now) and 3,305 responses!!!

    Great idea, Rob.

I have been told that this particular vBulletin feature puts a lot of stress on the servers we signed up for...

Maybe we'll do it soon, but not now.........
