Take your glovebox lock off and take to a locksmith to have a key made.

I was trying to do a Valet key at a locksmith recently and they told me they couldn't do it and should send it to DOM or the dealership... is this true or I should find a better locksmith?

A _good_ locksmith can cut a key using the sequence of wafer numbers. They have a book where they can look up the cut depths from the wafer/tumbler numbers. My guy has done it and the keys have worked perfectly (actually better than a copy cut from a worn original).

Very good ideas guys .
.. I was thinking passenger side leg power like in the movie "No mans land". Prob wont work?? or 1/2 drill bit into the tumbler???
Do you know the number that was stamped on the key? Tony Eugenio is the key whisperer for early Porsches. He'll fix you right up.
Take the ignition lock out. Remove the electrical switch from the back. Send the lock housing to Tony at Lock and Key ID in Pennsylvania. Add screwdriver to electric switch so you can still move the car under its own power.
Have Tony make a spare key, too.
OR, if you have another key laying around, sometimes you can get it to work (after 40 years the tumblers and keys are sometimes so worn that they're interchangeable).
Good luck.

I had same issue, pulled door lock and took into local locksmith, 1 week and $49.00 later had a new key.
