In the RS book where all the cars and their options are listed, there is a column for country equipment. I can't find an explanation for what the entries mean. For example, cars delivered to Italy had "C07" listed. Anybody know how to translate the various designations? Thanks.
country equipment is a standard part of the order for all cars - not just RS's - or even Porsches. It is the mandatory equipment required to register a car in a specific country that is different to that required in other countries - ie lights - ie yellow for France, different indicator lens for different countries etc, seat belts in some countries were mandatory but not in others, hazard lights operation, seat belt undone buzzer for the USA, mirrors and mirror placement etc
I have never seen a list for all countries but it is something that would vary from year to year. In Australia it is governed by the Australian design rules which all manufacturers have to abide by to have their cars sold in the country, each car has to be certified that it meets that standard and that is seen by a tag attached to the car (usually by the manufacturer) certifying it - a bit like the one in the USA version door jamb. You have the same (but different) system as does UK, France, Italy, japan etc. It is a nightmare for manufacturers.
